So, how does this work?

1. Tender Grass Farm grass fed meats are USDA inspected, vacuum-sealed, and flash frozen at the time of processing. This preserves maximum freshness until the product is ordered.
2. All orders are then carefully packed in a reusable Styrofoam cooler container with dry ice and shipping is scheduled to ensure your meat arrives frozen. We use plenty of insulating packing material and dry ice in order to ensure that your pastured meats stay fully frozen during shipment.
3. When your product is shipped you will receive an email with a tracking number and delivery date. You do not need to be present at the ship-to address at the time of delivery but you should make sure that the frozen meats are unpacked and put away in the freezer as soon as possible. Please note that we typically do not ship on Friday due to our products being perishable. If shipped on Friday your frozen meat would remain in a UPS warehouse Saturday and Sunday without any progress towards the shipping destination.  

How can I get free shipping?

Tender Grass Farm offers Free Shipping on all orders over $150.00 to the Eastern United States. On the map below you can see that the yellow, light brown, and green regions are within three days' transit time of our farm via UPS Ground Service. Free Shipping on orders over $150.00 is only available in these regions. If you're not sure if your ship-to address is located within three days' transit time via UPS Ground Service even after looking at the map below, simply put at least one product into your cart, click "View Cart", then click the "Calculate Shipping" text located directly beneath your subtotals, enter your ship-to address information, and then click the blue "Calculate Shipping" button. If you are given "UPS Ground Service" as an option, the address you entered is within three day's transit from our farm via UPS Ground Service. If your most economical option shown is "UPS 3 Day Select," you are not within our 3 day UPS Ground service ship zone and do not qualify for free shipping  for all orders over $150.00 (see image B below). You must then select an alternative shipment option of your choice: UPS 3 Day Select, UPS Second Day Air, or UPS Next Day Air.

How much does shipping for orders for less than $150 cost?

Simply put the products that you are interested in purchasing into your cart, click "View Cart", then click the "Calculate Shipping" text located directly beneath your subtotals, enter your ship-to address information, and then click the blue "Calculate Shipping" button. You will then see several shipping options to choose from. The most economical option is always UPS Ground Service but you will not be given this option if you are outside of of the region on the map above that is within three days' transit via UPS Ground Service (see example image B below).

Can I expedite my order?

Yes. Please also remember that you need not select a faster shipping option if you are satisfied with the number of days that your package will be in transit via UPS Ground Service. An example would be if the ship-to address is in Florida and you need the package to have no more than two days in transit in order to be able to have your steaks ready for your dinner party. Choosing UPS Second Day Air will cost you more but the package would have arrived on the second day anyway via UPS Ground Service because Florida is colored light brown on the map above (Image A) which indicates that all UPS Ground Service packages will take two days in transit from our farm to Florida.
